I have little to add to the already many glowing reviews, except to say that this book eloquently serves to remind us to view our fellow creatures in a less utilitarian way.

I loved this very sad story. The author is able to relay the horrors of war in a direct yet non-graphic way, as told by the insightful horse, Joey. This is a great read to introduce young readers to a very different time in history. …

War Horse is an excellent book. This book looks at World War 1 through the eyes of a horse who was reluctantly part of the war. It is a great book for introducing children to the horror of war, because it presents difficult subject…

This book details the difficult lives of horses drafted into the service for WWI from the perspective of one of these horses. Used like vehicles, pushed beyond their limits of endurance, carrying soldiers and pulling supplies through mud…

I have read this book once for myself, once to a classroom, and once for my own children. I cried all three times. Great story for grade school aged kids.

Amazing story. I love how it is from the point of view of a horse. It is so innocent. I also love the neutrality of the book. Must read!

World War I. Told from the perspective of the horse, this book looks at the role of the British cavalry during the war. This novel will appeal to anyone interested in military history or with a soft spot for animals and companionship.

I read this before I saw the movie, and I hate to say it, but the movie was far better. I loved it though. A good book, easy read, but too much bad language for the age it was meant for.

This is one of the best books that I have read. I must admit that I usually read Sci-Fi or fantasy books but this is one that made my top ten. Even higher than Harry Potter!

I, on the other hand, ADORED this book! I read it in french but it was still amazing! It was hooking, full of epicness. It really made me think about love and friendship and how much it really means in life. How it's hard to break a strong…

I was wary about reading a novel narrated by a horse but this novel surprised me. Joey's voice is clear and straight forward and other than the conceit that Joey understands what every human being says, never becomes unbelievable. Joey is…

I love that this story is told from Joey, the horses perspective. It allows the reader to see the horrors of war without any of the political issues or choosing who the enemy is. Joey encounters good people on both sides of this war, and…

People are silly. They will 9 times out of 10 tell you that the book was better than the movie. This is not the case here. The movie was a barrel of EpiC. This book, in short, and by comparison, was a reading FaiL.
