Both Susanne Brier's Danish original and this American version are dramatic anti-war movies. I prefer the Danish version of the story even though the American setting and perspective works. Despite the excellent acting, casting, directing,…

Really intense and well-paced storyline. When I first selected this film, I didn't realize it was a subject based on war and normally I would have just passed it up, if it weren't for Maguire, Portman, and Gyllenhaal, and fortunately this…

The main characters did a good job and they thankfully didn't take this where I was afraid they might. Tobey Maguire was a tad unbelievable as a Captain in the Marines. Pretty solid production.

A good movie but I definitely would not have cast Tobey Maguire in the role that he plays.

It was O.K for a home TV movie. I was entertained and interesting. But it was NOT worth the long library wait or the price to rent from a Red Box. "I fast forwarded a lot but not all the way.”

I hesitated to watch this , knowing that it was one of those 'heavy' films that might leave me more exhausted than appreaciative. It had a slow start and I thought maybe it would be a typical 'boy goes to war, wife and brother ( or best…
