What I always enjoy about Spindler’s books is that they don’t always follow the norm and you’re always in for a bit of a twisted treat. This was probably my second favorite that I’ve read of hers. I found all the characters engaging and since I adore both Stacy & Spencer it was lots of fun reading how the White Rabbit case brought them together.

A high for me with this book was the pop cultural. I’ve always known that Lewis Carroll’s “Alice in Wonderland” was an often-discussed book but never did I realize the extent of it. Spindler weaved such a fantastically gruesome plot around this story that not only was I pulled in by the plot but I’ve got the itch to learn more about the classic “Alice in Wonderland” and where it’s been used in other pieces (books, movies, tv… etc).

I wasn’t such a fan of how Stacy got away with sooo much. Spindler usually follows procedure so much and I love that about her style. However, I feel like Spencer would’ve pulled the plug on Stacy faster and the lash back from his actions didn’t seem fitting. Yes, I realize that with fiction you get to play puppeteer for a bit but it didn’t sit well with me. I didn’t believe that Spencer, a guy who’s gotten accused of being bought would break protocol for her. I think he’d follow the cop-book more.

If you’re looking for a good thriller with lots of twists; I figured I had it at the get go but there were lots of obstacles that threw me off, you’ll enjoy this book.
