Still a fun Rom-Com, with all the implausibility and silliness that go with the genre. Added chuckle when they played "Love is All Around Us" --- the real version, not the Bill Nighy hilariously mangled version from Love Actually.

"Four Weddings and A Funeral" was yet another one of those hideously-conceived Rom-Coms (in the seemingly endless string of Rom-Coms) that was so repulsive in its convoluted "boy-meets-girl" premise that it actually made my skin crawl, big-time.

I guess it didn't help matters much that I am someone who doesn't approve at all of the ritual of marriage that is so graciously sanctified through the holy eyes of the church.

And, of course - Since this despicable film contained four weddings in all, that definitely multiplied my overall revulsion towards its story-line to the power of 4.

Well - I can certainly say one thing for sure about actress, Andie MacDowell - She can definitely play a despicable flake with absolute perfection. Yep. She sure can.

But - Hey! Wait a minute here!... Come to think of it - I'm actually convinced that the reason why MacDowell was able to portray this sort of contemptible character to a "T" was because she was really just playing herself.

Anyway - From my perspective - 1994's "Four Weddings and A Funeral" was a pretty nauseating Rom-Com whose 2 main characters (Charlie and Carrie) didn't even have the capacity to generate a single iota of chemistry between themselves. No, they didn't.

And, with that said - I thought this completely contrived movie was total garbage from start to finish.

Pretty standard romantic comedy, that gets high praise from critics I think because the actors, with the exception of Andie MacDowell, can speak with British accents.

I saw this movie ages ago, it does hold up well. Good laughs and a well written script.

Delightful. Anyone who has ever been to a quirky wedding will recognise a character or two in this film. Hugh Grant seems to have built a career by playing Hugh Grant; he does that here too, but this is a perfect vehicle for him and he is tremendous in the part. Some beautifully inventive and entertaining writing.

Brilliantly funny, well written comedy with a very warm, friendly cast that you can't help but like.

A very funny romantic comedy with an interesting twist!

This is a typically British comedy, with a nice selection of characters, buffoonery galore and disaster only just averted at almost every turn.

Do you think there really are people who can just go up and say, "Hi, babe. Name's Charles. This is your lucky night?"

Well... if there are... they're not English.
