NYPD criminalist Lincoln Rhyme joins his beautiful protégé, Amelia Sachs, in the hunt for the Coffin Dancer -- an ingenious killer who changes appearance even faster than he adds to his trail of victims. They have only one clue: the madman has a tattoo of the Grim Reaper waltzing with a woman. Rhyme must rely on his wits and intuition to track the elusive murderer through New York City -- knowing they have only forty-eight hours before the Coffin Dancer strikes again.

This is about as perfect as story-telling gets. Deaver is absolutely on the mark with a thrilling tale that keeps you on the edge and encompasses a lot of specialist expertise to get out of near-impossible situations. And, of course, the patented Deaver twist throws off even the most avid readers. And Deaver is precise enough to tie off all the loose ends in the surprising conclusion.

This was a re-read for me. Excellent book, great characters, very enjoyable read

A terrific murder mystery with all the plot twists and modern crime solving techniques we love to read in Deaver's books. A most satisfying read.

This was an excellent follow-up to Jeffery Deaver's first Lincoln Rhyme novel, The Bone Collector. And the case they're on in this one is no less chilling. I loved every word! And the ending was fantastic; I never saw it coming!!!
