touching, sad, hallucinatory, and sometimes difficult to follow but a strong overall feeling of these Inuit losing a part of their culture because of the influence of white men and Christianity.
I agree with Laksmi below - I liked Atanarjuat better.
It was the first film I saw in the series. It was a good story.
An antropologically important film about the early meeting of Rasmussen with the Inuit in the 1920s, shedding light on the mythos/religious understanding of the world of the Inuit.
I highly recommend this to anyone interested in that aspect of Inuit culture.
I didn't enjoy it as much as Atarnajuat but it was still lovely. The story is a bit dis-jointed but the cinematography is excellent.
