It takes some getting used to, the first few chapters I was a bit iffy about just because of the voices in his head but I soon fell in love with their personalities. The plot was heartfelt and honest, I enjoyed it despite being a bit predictable at times. The story really shows the importance of friendship and I ended up liking it a lot more than I thought I would.

At first, I was a little turned off by the Greek chorus of imaginary friends in the narrator's head. I can appreciate the idea that a teenage boy would imagine a "sexy woman" who calls him "hot" all the time, but it's not the sort of thing that impresses the typical adult female reader. However, by the time the plot got rolling, I was hooked. Overall, the book was a little cheesy and sentimental, but the moments of stark reality and undercurrent of suspense made it a quick, enjoyable read.

I felt this book was very good! The characters were really unique and memorable, making the plot that much more interesting. This book really places on emphasis on how we are all crazy in our own ways and that no one is truly "normal". Jason and his relationship with his father is really meaningful to the plot as they share a few heart-wrenching moments that really make for a strong story.

From a choppy, gimmicky narrative to a protagonist you don't have time to sympathize with, this book was a full disappointment. Apart form a few shallow life lessons, you're left with an eternally angsty and annoying protagonist. The random, irrelevant praise for the author's other books doesn't mean this one is any good.
