This is the most intuitive and helpful book on breastfeeding I have found (I have read more than 10). This edition came too late for my first time around, but I devoured it before my second baby. After my second was born I would reference it and put it down. The next time I would need it I often would pick it up where I had left it off and flip a page or two and my new question would be answered. Start with this book and if it doesn't have the answer seek professional help.

THE best manual for breastfeeding mothers, from the organization that is still the best source of information on the subject in the world - La Leche League. Factual and no-nonsense but at the same time warm and supportive. It covers all aspect of breastfeeding including unusual circumstances, and is suitable and easy to follow for novice mums. As a mother of three, I highly recommend this book for all new and expectant mothers!

I really benefited from reading this book. Such informative and compassionate writing. I feel ready to take on breastfeeding (I was unsure of how and if inverted nipple was even possible to bf w/ first two kids). I ended up purchasing this so i can highlight and write in it :)

Most practical, empowering and encouraging "how to" I've consulted. An excellent resource!

This book was a very thorough guide to breastfeeding including a lot of detail and instruction on how to manage common breastfeeding problems. Authors are clearly very strong breastfeeding proponents, so this book may not be for people on the fence about choosing breastfeeding. But very well researched and presented. I especially appreciated the fact that the book included a chapter on pumping and how to successfully return to work without jeopardizing breastfeeding.
