In case anyone out there is still in the dark as to what NCIS is about: a pure propaganda vehicle for the military-industrial-complex. The show is sponsored [financed] by Lockheed Martin, the premier war contractor [formerly called defense contractors] around. Note this is important as shows' sponsors routinely and normally advertise on the sponsored shows, there is no other logical and business reason for them to sponsor it. Ergo, it is a propaganda vehicle.

I lasted only a few minutes into the cold open of the first epi of the huge shoot 'em up on a busy LA street, multiple car crashes, chasing some anonymous dude toting the obligatory haliburton aluminum brief case to know this was the epitome of trite. Returned the same day I picked it up. Bleah. My mistake was NCIS:LA instead of the original NCIS, which I still have not seen.

Really enjoy the characters and the plots are varied with few chase scenes. Intelligent, witty with action. Good TV especially without the commercials!
