A spectacular read! I didn't expect it to be nearly as good as it was! Any fans of the 'Legend' Trilogy will love this book!

It was much better than I expected it to be. It contains a lot of action and also incorporates thought-provoking issues like consumerism and financial struggles. The characters were interesting and likeable and I enjoyed getting their different perspectives on the world. I loved the world building and darker story that I wasn't expecting. Overall, I thought it was an entertaining read.

This book is good for fans of action-packed dystopias with a thoughtful side. It's sort of a retelling of "The Whipping Boy" - a rich boy has a poor one that takes his punishments for him, in this case, up to 16 years in prison for a crime his "patron" committed. Examines issues of debt, poverty and forgiveness. I gave this book two stars because it isn't my cup of tea, but I can see how other people could like it.

I loved this book!!! The ending was so unsatisfying... but I guess that is why they make sequels. This next book better be just as good. IT ISN'T OVER YET <3
